Hi guys. I just scored a mesa RK 2x12 cabinet to use with my mark iii.
It is the early version, with only 2 input jacks, one for each speaker.
I have some questions:
Can I rewire it to combine both speakers from a single jack (like the present RK212)?
Considering it is actually 2 112 cabs glued together, how much bottom end can I expect from using only the v30 side?

You can use a "Y" cord - that will give you parallel. If they are two 8 ohm speakers, you could always use two cables from the two 4 ohm taps into the individual speakers.

Look at page 33 of the dual rec manual (I know, not your amp) - check out wiring scheme #6. That's basically your setup. Except instead of the speakers in different cabs they are in the same cab.

One more thing and I should have asked this -- are you sure they are separate inputs? Not one of them a parallel out? I'm not familiar with the early RK cabs. It just seems odd to me for a 2x12 to have no input for both speakers together.
