I have a Dual Rec Roadster 2x12 combo. I have been playing it for the past year and a half with the FX loop bypassed and all was well. I decided that I would try to use the amp with the FX Loop in for the sole purpose of using the output control to bring the volume level down. when i switch in the FX loop, there is no sound. The only way that i can hear anything is if the output is cranked and the individual channel master is cranked, and at that level it is still only a whisper. I switched the FX loop back to bypass and the amp returned to its old self, as good as it was before.

Does this mean that i have a bad tube in the V5 position? According to the tube task chart in the manual, V5 takes care of the FX Loop.

thanks

if you have the send and returns in the back of the amp around 12 noon (good place to start) then I would check the V4 tube thats the loop tube. also put a small jumper in the send and return when you check it.

Just fixed the problem. In the roadster manual it says that the V5 is the loop send and return so thats the first tube it took out.......the entire crown of the tube was white, a sure sign that the tube is dead. Replaced it and have been playing with no problems for over an hour now.

should have checked the tube before i posted.

sorry

Thanks anyway

sorry I misread that..didn't notice the roadster...anyway glad you are back in business...thats all that matters...
