This is an oldy I wrote last year but never got around to getting a proper recording of it.. now that I have some good gear I decided to fix that this evening :p

Let me know what you think!

I like the tune! The playing suits it well. You made it a little different from the usual modern rock tune without going self-consciously weird anywhere, which is cool.

You're playing cooler-than-average chords on the verse, but the voicing of them is getting lost in the overdrive--I wanna hear those chords! Try rolling the guitar volume down just a little bit, like one notch, and not touching the amp--that often works for me... once there's vocals in there, you'll wanna sit back in the mix a bit anyway. Then you can just roll the volume back up for more drive when the voicings are more straightforward :)

Or, use a slightly less overdriven tone all the way through and then double your leads with a slightly bassier tone...

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate the advice!

Also thanks for being the first person out of 90 people to listen to this to actually comment :D

Sounds good! Did you use the recording out from the Mark? I bet if you mic'd it up and double tracked the guitars and blended the record out and mic'd tones it would sound killer! Sounds pretty good as is, though...

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, it's the recording out and a mic blended together then duplicated (not double tracked).

Cool! In that case, I would prob bring out the mic'd tone a little more if it were me. Just a thought! Keep up the good work...

I remember when this was in it's infancy. It has come a long way. Good Job Plat. Love the opening.

What drum software are you using?

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, it has changed quite a bit since then. I am going to redo it with a proper analog delay soon (the intro).

Drum software is "Drums on Demand" integrated into GarageBand

Nice tune Platy! When I get a mkIV you got to share those settings with me.

Ever use the Mark for an Adam Jones like tone? Parts of it had that vibe. Not necessarily in playing style but perked my ears none the less as I have been curious how Tool would sound through one.

Thanks, you're not the first person to say it reminded them of Adam Jones actually :)

I think the Mark is capable of his tone although not perfect, his newer tones especially. No problem about the settings 8)

thanks for listening!
