Hey guys what's up? I've been getting a lot of good info from this board for a long time now (I've been lurking in the shadows). I'm on my second Boogie amp now (Electra Dyne 1x12 Combo) and I was thinking about changing the stock tubes form the Mesa 6L6 to EL34's. I might have put the horse before the cart on this one, because I already purchased a set of Electro Harmonix EL34's and I'm wondering if any body knows what "range" they sould be in, so as to minimize any problems that can arise from not using the Mesa brand tube.

On a side note, I did do a search on this is the forums, but I didn't see what I was looking for, unless I didn't go back far enough.

Thanks for the potential help.

Hey dodger916,

Thanks for the reply. I actually just read through the Mesa warranty sheet that came with the amp and noticed that part about the voiding of the warrenty with other tubes. I should have done a little more homwork before buying the tubes.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the welcome!

The new amp is awsome! I really dig the sounds that I can get out of it. I like it a lot better then the Roadster that I had previously. The cleans are great and the ditry channels are killer (at least for me they are). I really like the fact that I can get a tone that I am happy with, without having to use an overdrive pedal. Once I click on the OD though, it just gets better!

Thanks for asking.

Thanx for your review.

Post a full review on it's on thread. There have not been many yet. That well make a few happy...... if you want.

I am sure a few people have Q ?

The way I understand Mesa's warranty is that ANY other tubes besides Mesas void the warranty - Groove Tubes included. Just be sure to keep your Mesa tubes around. If something happens you can throw those tubes back in there and take it to a tech.

I think you're right. My warranty reads "This warranty becomes void if any tubes other than genuine Mesa tubes are used."

Good catch.

Thanks again for your help guys. I've contacted the store that I bought the tubes at and they are letting me exchange for a Mesa set.

Thanks again!
