This is a departure from my usual style of music, but I thought it would be nice to put something together for my wife for Valentine's Day. It's all instrumental. The acoustic is a $30 'pawn shop special' Jasmine by Takamine mic'd with a Pearl CM2000. The electric tones you hear is a 'eBay special' (lol) Peavey Raptor (strat copy) through my DC-3 and Recto cab then mic'd with the CM2000 about 2 inches away from the grill on axis. The DC was at a VERY low volume so I had to crank the mic pre and then compress it in the DAW quite a bit to get the tone out of it. Some noise resulted, but I can live with it I guess. I suppose a DI box with ground lift would help. I did a little EQing in my DAW but mostly to increase the 'presence' (the treble).

It's the song called "Forever". Lemme know what you think...

nope, it was my fault - uploaded a 256Kbps audio file. I'm assuming the site resampled it to 192Kbps. The lo-fi version works but doesn't sound very good - although better than the hi-fi at this point! It'll be fixed when I take my lunch break.

I listened to the lo-fi version and it seems a really good t(o/u)ne. I'll wait for the fixed hi-fi version! You can upload only 128 kbit/s mp3

Thanks! I think the file size limit is 10MB and the last version was higher. I've uploaded the new version. Have a listen...

I'll take any and all comments, suggestions, etc. I want it to be as perfect as possible for it's unveiling this weekend to the misses...

OK, I've uploaded a new version of the song. I changed the drum kit and brought the guitar levels down. I also got rid of most of the hiss and other noise by way of some EQ adjustments, noise reduction, and BBE Maximizer plugin at the end of the chain to bring it back to life. Worked fairly well. I think it sounds better. Have another listen if you get a chance...
