Hi, I'm buying a Mark iic+ and am looking at a 60w that i'm not sure if it's simulclass or not. My questions are as follows,

1. is there a big difference between 60 and 90 as far as headroom and punch goes?

2. Is there much of a tone difference between simulclass and non-simulclass?

3. Do they even make a 2c+ in 60watt simulclass?

Thanx

There's not a very big difference in punch or headroom. It exists, but is not drastic.

There is difference between Simul and non Simul. Simul will be warmer, rounder, creamier...whereas non-simul will be brighter, more raw, and in your face.

Thank you very much guys, I'm not so worried about the punch/headroom of 60 watt. It's a combo and I think i'd like the 60 watt version. However, I listen to Metallica's albums and just fall in love with the sound over and over. The only reservation I have is that It is non-simulclass and I don't want it to sound different. I mean I'll be spending big dough here

I'm not sure I know what a quad box is. Btw, It has an eq and everything, just not simulclass. I went on youtube and the only clip I found was of rich brymer's 60 watt which sounded great at first but then when compared to the other clips of simulclasses, it sounded really bright and lacking depth. I'm not sure if it was just the recording but I am wondering if I should wait. What is the chance of a fully loaded 2c+ simulclass coming on ebay? do they often go on sale or should I get this and be glad I found it?

BTW, Here is the amp I'm looking at
http://cgi.ebay.com/Mesa-Boogie-Mark-IIC-Amplifier-1x12-EQ-Reverb-2C_W0QQitemZ150352970533QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2301bc4325&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

and here is the rich brymer clip I referred to.

what's cool about that piece is the story of the mesa employee, if it's true. That means to me that Mike Bendinelli most likely had his hands in there often to tune it up if necessary, so you're getting a well-tuned C+ (if my theory holds true).

Fully loaded pieces come up often and usually sell for that same price.

C+ amps are very very bright. All of them. You can mod them to remove some of the brightness, but they're still bright amps. They have plenty of depth if you know how to EQ them. All C+'s have the same basic tone. Simul will simply be a bit warmer/creamier as I mentioned.

So, i'm having a hard time finding a head but found a combo. The question is, can I put it in a head cab for tour? If so, would it be easy to swap and does Mesa sell them?

Thanks

very easy to swap. takes 2 minutes and a screwdriver.

Thank you very much. How much is a head cabinet for a 2c+?

BTW, Here's one that I'm considering... What do you think?
