Ok, so I pick up this mint 94 Head. I was saving for a V but couldn't pass this deal up. I used to own a combo and had to let it go because times were tough (It’s great to be workin again). This amp sounds way different than my last one. I played the combo on top of a theil, the head now goes through 2 of them. I tried the same tube set-up I had in the combo, but I actually like the stock mesa pwr and pre tubes that came with the head. This head seems way more tone-ish than the combo. I tried stock mesa tubes in the combo but pulled them out immediately when I had it. I hardly ever used R2 on the old, now I spend most of my time there. There is so much versatility when rolling off your guitar volume, the dynamics are unlike any other amp I ever played. Ch3 is smoother but with just as much gain as the combo. I tried a bunch of tube combos just to experiment but I keep going back to the stock tubes. It's gonna suck when these fail. I don't understand it, but I don't think I am getting a V too soon. Hmmmm anyone looking to unload an Ibanez rg3120? I have cash.

I have an Ibanez RG3120 in blue. Just picked it up about a month ago. not sure if I would unload it, it plays awesome, but i guess if the price was right I'd give it some serious contemplation. It sounds incredible thru my Mark IV as well.

I had one a few years ago. Your right, it sounded sick through that amp. I had a blue one as well. I am holding out for a natural or violin finish. I'm not in a hurry, one will show up in time. I'm only looking to spend around $800 if it's in nice shape. The one I let go was mint and sold it for $700, but that was the market a few years ago.

I will when I finish a new wood shell for it. I'm thinking Wenge wood for the sides and Tiger maple for the top and bottom with a slight amber finish. A wenge grill front with black piping around the edge. Then a block of the maple right in the center of the grill, sanded flush of course. I'll make it about a half inch larger then the boogie badge that will go right in the center of the maple block. Black leather handle and a wenge tube protector. That is going to look hot! It should be done by Thanksgiving.
