Actually not all head or combos are wide-bodies. There is no real perfomance difference that anyone seems to profess.

The main differences are costmetic in that a couple controls are on the front panel of the wide body and on the rear panel of the regular. The major difference is that the regular head or combo chassis can be removed and rackmounted, whereas the widebody is....well, too wide.
