Hi, I started lurking around here recently after I purchased a Mark V to get practical information, and thought I'd introduce myself.

I play in a classic rock cover band, and had been using a Marshall JVM 210 into either a 2x12 cab loaded with Celestion T-75s or a 4x12 cab with Celestion K-100s. I got a little bored with the tones I was getting, and decided to give a Mark V a try. I was immediately blown away with the great clean tones, and the broad range of tones you can get in channels 2 and 3. It has become my go to amp.

I do have one question. For the people who use the effects loop to engage the solo and master volume controls, do you generally crank the channel volume and control the output with the master and solo volume controls? I'm just trying to get a sense of how to balance between the channel volume settings and the master/solo volume settings.

Cheers.

The Channel Masters should be used to balance the volume between channels, but kept in a reasonable range, usually between 10-2 o'clock. Then, use the Output Control to set the overall volume of the amp. The Solo control should be set slightly higher than the Output control, to boost the volume for solos. Enjoy!

That was where I had the channel volumes. I just wanted to know if there was a unique way of doing it. Thanks for the response.
