So I am new to the forum and new to Mesa in general. I have, for the past 20+ years lusted over a Mark series amp (Mark iv in the beginning, and a Mark v since they came out.) Unfortunately, I have not been able to afford such an amp until recently. This past week, I obtained a gently used (2013) Mark v head with custom tolex and grill. Super excited to dive into my first Mesa amp.
A few things to note:
1. I called Mesa when it arrived to transfer the warranty and they took care of it quickly. Easily one of the best customer service experiences that I have had. Which leads to:
2. When the amp arrived, the end cap to the footswitch had broken (looks like it had been repaired once before). While transferring the warranty (still 2.5 years left on it), I asked about buying the part to fix the footswitch. The rep on the phone says "well, since it is under warranty, we will send out the part." Dang. Talk about standing behind your product.
3. I can't believe the range of sounds this amp produces. I have to admit, I am a huge JP fan and that was part of my decision to get a Mark v, but honestly, I don't like to emulate other players and my own personal style is different. But this amp just covers so much ground.
4. It is built like a tank. Talk about heavy. It is heavier than my Peavey Classic 30 Combo.
5. I look forward to digging in and really finding some new voices with this bad boy.

Congrats! The Mark V head is a phenomenal amp. I'll never willingly part with mine.

Bad Ass.

I have #190 Combo from 2009, but I am looking for a head shell to swap it into..

Yes you will have a good time. The Boogie service is second to none. Being located in California the Hollywood Boogie shop always goes the extra 1000 miles to get things done. I have two Boogies currently the Mark V and the F30. A little over a year with the Mark V and I am very spoiled, happily spoiled.

As everyone will say "Read the manual" and keep it handy. There is a wealth of information in there. Making the amp sound good isn't difficult but sometimes making the amp produce the tone you are looking for takes a bit of tweaking.

Congratulations!!!
