Just picked this up tonight, so haven't had much play time on it, and now going out of town for the weekend!
but I did crank it up a bit before i had to go, and i think i do hear a difference between this older model and all my other rectos (i have a Triaxis with the recto board, had a Recto Pre, had a 3.ch Triple Recto, had a later 2 ch. Dual Recto).
It seems a bit clearer and tighter, brighter and seems to EQ differently than my other newer recto equipment.
It also has the oldest looking tubes in it i think i have ever seen! (the guy advertised it as KT5881's, and i didnt realize until i got there that these were just 6L6's anyway!
he put tape on the knobs to note his settings, which i removed, and will now need to clean up a little. the leather looks a little old, but this IS an old amp nowadays! he also made marks on the knobs to make it easier to see on stages...i might think about changing them back new knobs but now sure yet either.
I'll give it a test run next week, perhaps at a gig next week, but if i can swing it, i want to see how this older head will sound combined with my Stiletto Deuce as well. should be interesting, as this is not the big bassy boomy head that the current Rectos have turned out to be...
although i see that is can still get in this territory with the mid and bass knobs! I'm going to have to learn more about how this amp is EQ'd as i tried it a few different ways and got some nice sounds out of it, but it does sound different than my other Recto's, so it's going to take some time to learn it.
