Need tubes, help please

Ok dudes I'm kinda new when it comes to tube change.

Turns out that my mk4 has a quad of sovtek 6l6 wxt tubes. Are these good ? I have the opportunity to buy used a quad of Sylvania 6L6GC STR 387. Are they any good and will they be ok in the mk4 or should I just go with mesa 6l6 quad ?

I think I'll just go with mesa tubes. The sylvania tubes are three times the price of new mesa's.

Is it because you are from Iceland? I just bought a matched quad of tung sol 606 gc-str for under 100 bucks.

Well it's my amp tech that has those sylvanias and I searched ebay and found them from $169 up to $250 a pair. The mesa ones are 45 bucks a pair.

That is what I would do if those were my options. I dont think I could ever buy used power tubes, especially for an upcharge. I just threw in a quad of tung sol 6l6 gc-str. I ended up spending about 96 bucks after taxes.

the only tubes worth looking at here in iceland right now are jj's. I hope they are good cause the quad is costing me 200 bucks. These better be stellar tubes or I'm going back to modellers :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
