Ok first let me say i'm typing this on my.phone so i apologize for any errors. ok gets the thing i recently bought a reborn dual almost brand never gigged all that good stuff i only paid 1000 for it because guitar center is stupid lol. I recently saw a rack mount rectifier for the same.price. so my question is should I keep the ,2012 rectifier or go for the rackmount

I honestly think the newer recto sounds fizzy compared to the blackface two channel I used to play all the time. Plus I play bass in my main band and guitar is just more of a hobby for me so I have all the rack crap for it already so racking an amp would be a huuuge convienence factor for me.

Sounds like you just answered your own question.

lol you might be right but to answer it more thoroughly the other problems I have with this newer recto is the diode switching per channel really? Waste of time maybe if you had spongy and bold for each channel it could get intersting. I doubt i'll ever want to use the 50 watt setting and honestly i'm not going to be switching between modern,vintage, and raw unless I'm bored and feeling expiremintal. I like to expirement but I'd also like to just play guitar too and have it sound slightly like Metallica lol.
My mesa amp history goes like this: F100 head Guitar center bought smoked at paractice returned it got a three channel 05 I loved it played it for 3 or 4 years then had a 2 channel 95 Black Face chrome chassis but didn't have a tech to take it two when it didn't sound right so I sold it :( . Played a couple of triple 3 channels whitch and lets face it when dialed right sound like the elusive two channel tone but are waayyyy to heavy and pricy to replace the tubes. Attempted a trixasis 2;90 setup no thank you friend let me try his Stiletto trident awesome amp but not a fan. I had a DC10 with eq that sounded awsome but needed and new caps replaced caps put reverb in sounded like poop afterwards. Found a reborn 2012 for 1100$ yes please footswitch is not working correctly and I am pretty sure there is something wrong with the effects loop so I am hoping i hit the nail on the head with this racktifier or I'm done lol. I love rectifier tone I feel its part of me at this point I was spoiled early on with having that BIG sound! The three and two channel Dual recs were the only two amps I ever used live I have never owned a mark series if that happens I'll just buy a DSL lol.

Other amps I have had in my studio or used during practice sessions

Peavey:
5150= Good tones too noisy toooo HEAVY awsome when mixed right with a Rectifier
Triple X = compressed poop
JSX =good midrange cool tones made too cheap
valveking=poop
B52:
AT100=poop
Carvin:
MTS 3200= Sounded like a weak marshall mesa mix it was my first tube amp transformer blew repaired and sold it store owner wouldn't let me return it why I only buy from GC now.
Genz benz:
El Diablo= awsome sounding wasn't mine very old school rock sound not good for metal (my opinion)
Madison:
Divinity 2= wasn't mine Sounded like a cheap recto not bad just built horribly *** backwords.
Bogner:
Ubercschall = overpriced overhyped crap not mine luckily
Alchemist= I actually like it its a cool little 40 watt bored at home amp over priced same guy owned it that owned the Uberschall we recorded with the alchemist.
Diezel:
Herbert= Decent tones too loud too many watts too expensive.
Line6: yes line 6
Spider 2= awsome first amp loved it still have it
Spider valve mk1=poop
Spider valve MK2= awsome head if you get the right year or my friends is just 1 out of a million that sounds amazing
Marshall:
DSL=good poop
TSL= Fake poop lol
Crate: Yes crate
Stealth 100= Loved it for the money wish I still had it

ok wow I feel better even though I know no one will read this but there it is lol

HEY, the Mark V is amazing. Don't H8. Shame about the blackface chrome chassis, it probably just needed tubes =-(

"HEY, the Mark V is amazing. Don't H8" best response ever lol I do agree the mark5 is amazing but i'll be the first to admit thats just too much amp for me 8) I would never use it to its full potential and you have to admit they are a tad overpriced hence my DSL joke. I don't know if it was bad tubes i changed them but preamp tube wise i was having trouble
