Hey guys,

Totally new here. I will admit that I have no idea about Mesa history AT ALL, so I figured this was the place to go.

I have a Mesa Dual Rectifier Solo Head that I purchased somewhere between 99-2000.

I'm trying to sell it because owning 2 heads just isn't in the cards for me right now.

So here's the problem I don't have any idea how much it's truly worth. In trying to find out myself I've come across some things that suggest some changes have been made to the Dual Rec over the last 10 years or so that mine would not have. I don't know if this means this has a positive or negative effect on the value.....

Hopefully someone can shed some light on the history/and fair asking price for the dual rec solo head.

Thanks in advance

jeb

I would assume some where in the 1K to 1200 range would be about right if in really good condition. I would say 800 if you want to get rid of it fast.

hey thanks so much for the response!
I am actually amazed at how good the condition is. I've managed to keep it without getting any nicks or spots on it. I guess I'm going to try ebay and start the auction around 950. Thanks so much for the input. I'm embarrassed of how ignorant I am to the whole ordeal.

With the exception of very early versions, most all Rectifier models (non Roadster or Road King) are going all day long for right around 1k.

here is a free tip. if you want to sell your head on ebay, do not start bidding at $950. start it at .99

Thanks. Im new to selling anything like this on eBay. Do I have any way of making sure that if I do start the bidding at .99 I won't have to worry about it going for something ridiculous in the low hundreds?

Yes. Just put a 'reserve' on it with the minimum amount you would be ok selling it at.

reserve prices are a double edged sword. one one hand you have a security blanket that your item won`t sell for a silly low price. on the other hand you`ll have less bidders. IME market value will never let a dual rec sell for under 800 if you start bidding at .99 and don`t impose a reserve. another thing to keep in mind is to offer worldwide shipping. our friends across the pond eat these things up, and thier money is strong.
