Hi all,
I want to install a reverb tank in my Mkiii. I bought it as a rack mount with 4x12 cab, and it had no tank. I built a combo box for it and would like to have onboard reverb. Couple questions.
First, I understand the right tank is the Accutronics 9AB2A1B. Is the unit made by MOD a direct replacement? Also, I can't tell which jack is the input and which is out. Can someone clue me in to how to figure this out? I have a picture of the chassis on my FB page, but not sure if it will show up. I can email the photo if it is needed. Thanks!

Most players like the MOD better than the accutronics and they are direct replacements. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5UXIhZraYk The numbers are to tell the type, whether it installs upside down, how many springs, size and the delay time. When you order the unit, tell them what type of amp you have and the type of sound you want and they'll sell you the right one, hopefully anyway. As far as which plug goes in which input, it only works one way so if it doesn't work one way, just switch it around, you won't hurt anything plugging in backwards.

I have a Mark III blue stripe as well. On mine, the white wire with the bare RCA jack goes in the rear (that is, closest to the back of the amp or the nearest one to you as you're looking at the amp from the rear), and the grey goes in behind it.

Don't know if you've ever tried a digital reverb though the "loop" of your Mark III but I personally like it better than the on-board reverb on my Mark II. Much more controllable with a digital reverb too. Not saying you would like it but it may be worth a shot before you spend money on tanks and circuit mods.
