i currently have my guitar plugged into a mt-2 metal zone then into a sd-1 then into my boogie

sometimes when i click them all off to play straight thru i pick up some distortion from the sd-1..

is there a way to make it have a true bypass, the mt-2 as well?

possilbly a switch box to plug my guitar into then split to run thru the stompboxes into the amp as well as a second to to straight to the amp from the guitar?

Boss pedals use FET switching so they basically are true bypass. if you did want them true mechanical bypass it would be a pretty tough mod and really involved and you could probably just buy a better pedal.

a looper (as you described) is a great way to do this. its a nice project and shouldnt be too expensive but it wont be cheap either (enclosures and switches are pricey) if you want a wiring diagram i can draw one up for you. it basically routes your guitar through the pedals or skips them and goes straight to the amp.

there ya go! all you need is:

4 jacks
an enclosure
a DPDT stomp switch
some wire
soldering equipment
and a drill!

plug the guitar into the right side and amp into the left. then put your pedals between the jacks on top

I have one of these: http://www.robertkeeley.com/product.php?id=23 I use it with my effects loop but it works with pedals in front of the amp as well. I bought mine used for about $40. I modified mine with an internal fusible link that will "burn out" in case someone tries to use it for nu-metal. Sorry man, I just couldn't help myself with that joke. You should check out this pedal, for real. :D

thats exactly what i posted but prebuilt. $85 is a ripoff!!!! parts for that are $20 shipped and that includes a battery and everything except for a drill! Ill put one together for you for $40 including shipping! keeley makes good solid quality stuff but still $85 + shipping for a switcher?!

gcx amp switcher.

How you using the mt-2? When I was using the mt-2 to boost an old Randall I had, I set all the eq knobs to noon, set the distortion to zero and just messed with the level knob.
