Well I'm going to Nashville within the next week to check out jobs and apartments hoping to move there within the next 6 months. I understand that there is a lot of country and soft rock down there but there's everything else as well. I'm curious if anybodys ever been there??? I'm looking to join in a very serious rock/prog/metal group while down there. I've been asking around quite a bit so the whole thing won't be a big waste even if I do end up moving down there. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

do you play with a thumb pick?..are you willing to learn??I would suggest the east Nashville area...I live an hour 1/2 away...seems like the metal scene is very underground(what else is new...)...the corporate whores of the muzac biz run that town, so it is a perfect setting for pure metal onslaught!.....where is my Venom cassette when I need it..?!
cool thing happened to me one night downtown..I was in awe of this thumbpicken' chickenpicken' freak of a studio cat until he and his band whipped out Crazy Train...nope...not even close!I knew all those years copping RR were now worth it(but..all that other **** was sooo alien ..killer stuff, but its all cluckacluckaclucka..banjobanjo banjo roll...dudes put 'over' in the word overkill)

..I ran for my nearest warren haynes cd...

i have a friend in nashville who plays in an indie/power-pop/rock band, but i don't know how well the scene is treating them

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'm leaving tommorrow morning actually so i'll get a first hand experience at it.
