What are you using (ie. settings, modes, guitar, power amp, fx, etc.)?
I rarely play with any other mode other than LD2 Yellow and I don't notice any muffle-ness on my low E. I've got my settings as follows:
Gain: 8
High: 5.5
Mids: 5
Bass: 3
LD2 Drive: 8
Master: 3
Presence: 5
Output Knob: 7-8
I don't use the Dynamic Voice, instead I use a DOD 31 Band Graphic EQ right after the preamp to shape the tone even further.
Yeah I do get some muffle on the low E string on high gain settings in LD2 Red.
However, I am using a sh*tty guitar and speker at the moment which must have a lot to do with it.
Phantomlord, are you putting the graphic EQ between the Triaxis and your power amp?
I tried a BBE 482 sonic max. in the loop, between the pre and power amp,but found the Dynamic Voice does the same thing.
I'd also(like you did) want to do some further tone shapeing, but dont want it on every present on the Triaxis.
I heard good things about the AshlyPQX572 parametric EQ
but not sure of spending $400/500 for something I cant hear before I buy.
I'm already running a Alesis Q2 thru the loop.
Thanks.
Sorry Fatboy,I got off the topic there but, I havent heard any muffling on my low E string.
Maybe my ears are burned out from the 60's...wait,make that the 70's.
Let me know what you find out.
yes maybe on the next days I will try another preamp, in my setup to get some conclusions, I´m so busy these days, no holidays, only a great list with a lot of things to do
I'm puting the EQ between the Triaxis and the power amp. The Dynamic Voice does do the same things but you can't shape it like you could with a real EQ. What I'd recommend doing if you don't want the EQ on every preset is put it in the loop and the EQ will only come on the presets that you have the FX loop engaged on. I don't know if that'll conflict with your Alesis.
Thanks Mike.
Maybe I can even find a EQ stereo rack mount unit thats footswitchable.
Ever try it with your D.R racktifier?( I have one as well...LOVE IT) !
Between the Triaxis and the DR in the rack, what more could a guy want.(maybe free beer and cheap gas)
I haven't tried it honestly. The Recto's been broken for quite a while. Doesn't get the gain that it's supposed to. From my experience with my old Triple Recto I actually like the DR without any separate effects. I wish I didn't sell it.
At last after a busy month it was time to test the triaxis, well the triaxis is completely in order, the trouble was the noise gate on my rocktron intellifex, I don´t know what´s hells happens with the low string and the hush, but I lowered the hush threshold and the nasty muffle disappears.
yes, on my early ages I like a lot digital multieffects, because it was all in one devices, but times are changing and maybe I will purchase an analog rack switcher to get some analog pedals fx, maybe I´m becoming to old. Time to play jazz???
