Must go to the shop.
Flash back: 1987. I was a young guitar stud plying my trade in Lost Angelous CA. I was working at Rumbo Recorders with a band called The New Frontier. Basically had the key to the city at that place, and the band had a bunch of old guitars I could use any time. I had a '66 Tele and a blackface deluxe in my bedroom at home, got to play a '55 Strat, a "56 refin, a 58 junior tv special, a '75 Strat that was re-worked by Bill Lawrance, '58 Les Paul and a bunch of amps that smelled funny. JTM 45 Baby, Old Plexi, Hiwatts and AC30's old black and silver fenders and the producer had is crap as well.
ANYWHO, the Hiwatt was kinda sick so the studio manager hipped us to the cat in the valley named Demeter that fixed studio stuff and we should try him FIRST. We walked in it was like going into an old antique electronics store. James was one of the coolest dudes that I met (Second to working with David Lindly and Tim Schmitt) He steered us away from high gain mods that everyone was doing at the time, fixed my amp, my bosses amp and the bass players preamp, and the dude loved his job.
SO when Demeter TGA combo came up, I had to jump. Ate rolls of Tums waiting for "Out for Delivery". After about an hour of playing, the amp started "Ghosting" and tri tone harmonics. Not Good. Filter caps I think. Man I am bummed. Amp goes back to dad tomorrow, I was looking forward to using it this Sat. for our hallow weens gig. I have to use my crummy old Mark III.
What the hell, waited this long a couple more weeks not going to kill me.
Had to vent.
