Some of you know of 'Ordem Inversa', my Brazilian rock band. A mix of rock/ballads, pretty comercial stuff.

I also have a band called 'Bad Salad' (same drummer and bassist). This is our everything goes kinda band. It started as a joke in May this year and it's been really therapeutic to jam and write new material almost every sunday.

We have about 40min worth of material (still without vocals) so far, about 3 long songs + some others started out. We're taking it slowly since we have other priorities (college, other bands, etc.) but we do plan on releasing an album in the future.

I just recorded a short video of myself playing a section of 'song #1'.
This is really just a scratch, the drums and bass were programmed by me and the parts aren't exactly accurate to what they're playing.

A few mistakes on my playing aswell, you'll probably notice.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

I liked however after 30s it sounded like a bunch of glued exercizes,I didn't notice any melody there.
Obviously it's a short sample but you asked for thoughts.

Very VERY DT and Petrucci influenced.

Who would have quested, right?

I chose this one intentionally to share. ;)
It's definately the most DTish we have. All of our songs are very distinct so far. You could tell they're from the same band but each has a life of it's own. It's whats keeping my sundays interesting. Hopefully it'll be a pleasant surprise when we release an album.

Great tone and playing. I enjoyed that clip, very Dream Theaterish. I would love to hear more, keep it up.

Glad you all liked it (the ending atleast :p ).
When we put something out I'll let everyone know.

shredi knight: Thanks man. It's pretty hard to get a bad tone with a Mesa Boogie. :)

great playing, nice lead tone!

I think the whole thing sounds like you're actually making fun of overly technical prog musicians, which I think is hilarious, but I don't know if you meant it that way! :)
