MKIV amp question

Will my compact MKIV combo amp fit in my MKIII short head amp chassis?

Also, how do you drain the residual power from an amp so I don't shock myself?

Yes but you won't have the ft sw mounts.

Unplug the amp and turn the standby switch On for several minutes. The design of the power supply is such that it will bleed itself off normally in a short time but use the above procedure just to feel sure! Don't touch anything associated with the circuitry and you'll be fine.
