MkIII Metallica tone

Hi Guys,

I thought I'd share my Metallica tone with you. It's a Mesa Boogie MkIII Blue stripe with the EQ in a V shape and a Boss EQ in the effects loop also set to a V shape.

See what you think and I'm sorry for the crappy sound quality.

Great tone, very very similar! Timing's off on the song though, not quite enough notes to delegate as "Holier Than Thou..." but still cool. I like the guitar as well!

Good to hear you like the tone. And the guitar is a Honey Burst Les Paul and I changed the pickups to EMG 81/85 set. I also changed the volume and tone knobs to the Les Paul custom style. I think it looks better with the black pickups.

Again, through the MkIII using the Boss EQ in the effects loop.

i was looking to get a mkiii


could you play some lamb of god and record or something like that droppe d and fast in that style.


i wanna see how close it is to a mk iv




if you can maybe not the emg pups since part of that sound im looking for is through clear low output pups like 59's or dimarzio hot pafs if not then its cool i can still get the idea
