Hi,

Is it possible to retrofit a reverb to an '80 MKIIB and if so - is it a costly mod?

The preamp boards for the IIC/IIC+ are different for reverb / non-reverb models and I would hazard the same is true for the IIB. Even if Mesa had new boards it would be an expensive upgrade.

It would be a decision financially (and I would say tonally also) to get a reverb unit in the loop.

yes...I retrofit period correct reverb circuits in Mark series amps. The tube socket knockout is already there on non-reverb models for the reverb driver, as are the cuts for the RCA female jacks. The only question is if you have a head or combo which brings up any routing for reverb tank placement(in head models). The cost is flat rate which covers labor, reverb transformer, tank, passives, etc...

All work is completely period correct for any Mark series amp based on the circuit variations Mesa has used from one model to the next.

Ok, so it is possible. I have a combo so no extra routing is needed. What is the approx cost for the mod?
