Mk IV reverb

I got my mark iv (a) a couple days ago, the reverb plugs were unplugged and it has a 12ax7 where there should be a 12at7 (the bs switched to 12ax7) now the reverb control acts as an overall presence control which is neat but not needed. I plugged the two jacks back in and it still doesnt work. Any thoughts.

Maybe the connections are reversed :?: Try swapping them around???
