Mini Rectifier vs ROV25?.....

I was under the impression that they were the same other than bigger enclosure and the reverb in the ROV25 but recently found out that the ROV25 has a choke and the Mini doesn't (a resistor instead?). Having said that, what would the difference in tone be in clean and dirt modes with a choke vs no choke? Anyone tried both side by side without the verb on the ROV25? If not can you give me a general idea of what the difference(s) would be? Thanks

How do you know this? Have you seen the schematics, or internals of either?

While I haven't seen either in person, when looking at the pics of the ROV25 I do see three transformers, power, output, & most likely reverb. The pics I've seen of the Mini Recto do not show a choke at all, and I believe the ROV25 is the same.

Other than that I would need to either see the schematics or open them up to confirm if there is or is not a choke in the ROV25.

Why the hang-up on this? Many great amps have been made without chokes, and to add a choke is a quick and easy mod down the road if "need be".

They are the same amp, with the addition of tube reverb and aesthetic differences - as well as the FM-75 speaker in the 1x12 combo. Thanks!

I have both, and they sound the same to me through the same cab. The ROV 1x12 has a tone that is really dominated by the enclosure, so it sounds different from my MR just because I use a different cab for the MR.

Picked up a Mini, sounds great! I am very impressed with it
