I have been absent from the forum for a while. Mostly due to my new cab. The Mills Acoustic Afterburner.

I have the straight 4-12. It has two V-30's and two G12k100 in an X pattern. It sounds huge. I can not recommend it enough. It makes every cab I have ever used sound like a toy. I never thought the cab itself played such a role. It most certainly does. I can run the bass on my MKV up to half if I wanted. No flub. It's just crazy.

Sorry for any GAS pains

With the MkV I have used a Splawn, Marshall, Orange (two 2-12's stacked) and a recto 2-12.

I took my head and guitar to the store and tried a Bogner Uber cab, and a Stiletto cab.

Maybe I should'nt have used the word toys. They are all good, for sure. But this Afterburner is very different. It is big sounding and much less directional sounding than any closed back cab I have ever played any amp through. It is vey tight and focused, but at the same time it covers a much bigger spot with that tight focused sound. You know how when you walk off to the side a few steps, the sound gets dark and muffely, or it is bright up close and dark and bassy from far away. This cab really spreads the sound well. Even just in the basement. I plugged my new LSS into it and we played some Skynard and stuff,it sounds great through it as well. PUNCHY.

I've heard alot of good stuff about these cabs. But how can it be "less directional" and "focused" at the same time?

I just meant it covers a wider area with that tight punchy sound. It sound's almost as if there are two 4-12's side by side... wider...bigger...less directional. All that good stuff you heard is true.

How???? There's an afterburner in it man.
