My F-50 has this metallic rattle sound that I hear when playing at higher volumes. If I bang the cab I can hear it also. I felt around for loose parts and hit the cab while holding different things and as of yet I have'nt figured ir out.

I know it's hard to even take a guess. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this and what it may have been. I dont think it's anything outside the metal chassis. How about that goofy angled screw hangin from the chassis?

It could be a cuple of things:

1) The tubes rattling.... at high volumes they'll do that. If its a preamp tube going microphonic, you can take a pencil and tap the eraser part on the tubes until you find the noisiest one and then replace that one. The V-1 will always be the loudest, but if it's too loud then I'd replace it.

2) the reverb tank could be rattling too
