I am having a problem with my Mesa Boogie Preamp. I was reading on The Boogie Board about the IIC+ mod and I ran across a post where this guy said that he was told by Mike B. at Mesa Boogie that there were a few other things to try on the preamp itself instead of the mod. He said to try going from the effects loop out into the power amp or to disconnect the recording out section by removing a capacitor. So I went from the send out and it did make it brighter.
Upon looking at the schematics Relevent Full it looked like I could put 2 dummy plugs into the A and B return jacks (these are a normally closed jacks) this would then break the circuit to the record and main out sections, effectively disconnecting them. I was moving the jacks around comparing all four out options. It was working; sound was even brighter everything seemed good. Shut it down and went to bed. When I turned it on the next morning I got nothing from the effects, send or the record outs A and B. The only jacks that work now are the main outs. Any idea what went wrong? Could plugging in the dummy jack have fried something? The return jacks contacts are all clean.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
