Mesa STR 440 & STR420 - Confusing :/

Hey guys,

I need ur help on this:

I've got a 295 SimulClass Poweramp coming (Thx Shawn again ). The official manual from the mesa page says it needs tubes like these:

4x STR 420 Type 6L6 GC
4x STR 440 Type EL-34
4x 12AX7A

I had a look at the biggest european musician store (thomann) and what I found confuses me:

STR 440 = 6L6 instead of EL34 (link: http://www.thomann.de/de/mesa_boogie_6l6_gc_str440_blue.htm)

and I can'T find any 'real' STR 420 - are they out of production?


Can someone enlighten me?

The current Mesa 6L6 tubes are labeled STR 440 and the EL34's are labeled STR 447.

The STR 420's aren't made anymore, I believe.
