Gibson Les Paul > RG16 > TS808 > NS2 > send > MXR KFK EQ > Nova Delay (on solos) > return > Orange PPC 412

Ch4 for rhythm, Ch3 for solos

Single SM57, just off the dustcap at 15 degrees towards center of cab less than 1" from the grille.

Drums are steven slate from a midi export. This would be better re-sampled from a real drummer obviously.

I posted this one before, but this one came out so much better with better mic placement.

Let me know what ya think.

Thanks

that orange cab loaded with v30s? if so i think you just convinced me on getting some for my roadster. sounds fantastic.

Pretty cool clip dude. The guitar sounds a bit thin and lacking some balls to me. How have your set your knobs on the amp for this? The tone sounds a touch high-end heavy.

Have you tried running straight in to see what kind of tones you can achieve? You're losing a lot of your guitar's natural sound by running it through that much stuff before it hits the amp.

Nice lead playing too 8)

Well in general the effects loop kinda takes some balls out of the roadster's tone.

The main reason it's lacking some balls is the tubes are getting over 6 months old with regular playing. I'm gonna swap them for our show tomorrow, because I noticed the same thing. The whole track is just lacking mids a little and I boosted the highs a little which made it a little fizzy. I didn't notice until i played it in my car a couple hours ago haha (the car test tells all)

Yes, that's a v30 loaded Orange 412. The cab is from 1974 or 76, so it's pretty meaty.

Some new Tung-sol EL34's are in the mail. I'm going to go buy a new set of 6L6's to hold me over for the show and pop them in one of my DCs when I'm done haha.

Thanks for the posts. I'll take the suggestions into consideration and mix them soon, possibly tonight.

really awesome once it gets rockin. is there el34's in the amp when you made the clip? really like the old Skool Tourniquet sound at the 1:05 mark.

good job Bros.
