hello all,

was reading somewhere on the boogie board,
someone was chatting about having the quad preamp with on board midi section,
has anyone out there actually got this with there quad,
i didnt think it came out with midi or was it an after market installation,

cheers neil

Neil, I own one of the quads with the midi function and believe its a factory install and also not all that uncommom. I think the reason most people prefer the non-midi model is that the midi equipped models have a lesser quality reverb tank installed. Makes no difference to me, i don't think the reverb on either unit was anything special and prefer to use processer units for verb. I use my Rocktron processers to control the midi function and it works pretty damn good. I can change patches with the Quad following in tow via one simple Tech21 Midi Mouse to keep the footprint on my pedal board a little smaller. I also have the FU-2A foot controller, but have no need to use it with my setup (still works great though).

hi there,
thanx for replying,
i been away with work,
do u have any schematics of yr pre amp, showing the wiring diagrams of the circuitry with the midi circuit,
cause i been looking for a quad preamp for about 18 months now, wanna use it with a strategy 500 poweramp,
can only seem to find quads without the midi on board, but i still keep losing those auctions on ebay, price too high,
but i will get one when the price is right,
prefer to buy a quad already 240volts with a midi section on board,
but if i could modify, add the midi section, convert from 110v to 240 volts, would probably be easier,

thanx neil
