I am new here and would like to say hello. Hello. I just bought a used Nomad 45. The output section works fine but none of the tone controls work nor the reverb. I substituted the reverb tank with a known good one and still no reverb. Some of the tone controls seemed loose but when I took the knobs off they were tight to the chassis. The shafts are loose in the pots themselves. I took the amp out of the case to look for any loose wires, connections etc., but did not find any.
I find it hard to believe that all nine pots are no good and also the 3 pots for the reverb? I have looked at the schematic but am not that good at that sort of thing. I figured I might find a common point that would cause this problem.
Short of taking it to a tech, any ideas?

P.S. When I shake the reverb tank I get the thunder in the amp but no reverb in the signal.

Nomads are notorious for having bad pots. It may be that the previous owner let them die one by one without getting them fixed. I think Boogie will sell you the official replacements on the cheap.

Thank you Dave. I think I will order one pot and replace it, if that cures that I will order the rest of them.

Depending on the condition of the pots, you may be able to have them repaired instead of replaced outright, for less money Take the amp to an authorized repair shop in your area and have them do an inspection on the amp. When I bought my Nomad 100, it had some bad bots, but one amp repair shop bench fee later (less than $50, IIRC, and definately less than $100) all the pots were repaired and I had a perfectly functioning amp.
