Anyone with an MKIII using a Weber Copper Cap rectifier? I was thinking about replacing the solidstate rectifier with one of these for a little more compression/sag. I was wondering:

a) your experience; good or bad.
b) which one?

I have used them in several amps, not the Mark III though.
They have always worked flawlessly.

I would recommend adding a bias pot too though. When you change your B+ voltage, the bias will change a little too.

Thanks man - the CCAP seems an easy enough mod, and I was wondering if I would need to re-bias, but I don't know if I want that much of an undertaking.

How loud do you find you have to play before you notice a difference? I find I mostly want more compression at lower settings on the MV, as I up enough for a medium size gig, I get enough compression (enough compression meaning I like the volume change when I clean up using my guitar's volume knob).
