Hi guys! I just bought my first Mesa, a 1x12 Maverick combo and I had a question about modding it.

I was wondering if there is any way to make the lead channel a clone of the rhythm channel, either by modding the circuit somehow or by somehow wiring the pots so that both sets of pots will control the the rhythm channel and you can switch between which set of pots is being used?

Please let me know and any help will be much appreciated!

Congrats on the new amp!

The designs of the two channels are very different. That's why they sound so different. It would almost not be modding so much as building a new amp if you want two versions of channel 1.

Boogie board user Monsta-Tone has some mods for the maverick, at least he was doing some a few years back. He can probably speak to this subject better than I. I remember him saying he upgraded the OT with good results.

Mine is stock, no mods. It might be fun to mod the bright/fat switch on channel 1 to be footswitchable. But I dig it as is for those in-between clean/crunch sounds. Personally, I almost never use channel 2. Except for the rare occasion when recording when I want some "character."
