Can anyone comment on how well the new Mesa Mk V produces tweed sounds?

I'm looking for my first electric tube amp(other than my handmedown noisy peavey Bandit12).

I know I like the sounds of the Fender tweeds, but the versatility and quality overdrive sound of the Mk V seems worth my money, IF it can produce that quality Fender clean and natural overdrive of the tweeds?

Thanks

Hi mate!

my last amp was a Fender Blues deluxe, fantastic tweed sounds but, er, well, little else!!

When I got my MV i had no intention of getting rid of the fender as i wanted my blues rig intact but after AB'ing the two it was apparent that the Mark could do everything the tweed could and more, i always liked the fender OD sound but the tweed setting on the mark is very close to this, close enough to not matter, couple this with the other channels and you're onto a winner.
A mark V is a substantial investment and i would urge anyone to think very carefully before buying one as it is a lot of money to drop on an amp if you find that you dont like it a month down the road.
I dont mean to sound condescending but if it is your first tube amp then please, please go and try a load of other amps first and see what you think of them, a mark V will take some setting up and has such a vast array of controls it can be easy to get frustrated with it.

Remember, a mark is for life, not just for chrstmas!!
