Hello all.

I have a line on a used Mesa Express 5:50 (not the plus). I can afford it but I want to be sure that what he is wanting is in line with what is the going range. It is in very good shape. There is a small tolex tear (less than an 1/4" and has been reglued) on the front bottom and there is another small tear in the grill (which I am planning on replacing anyways.) Functionally top notch and I have bought from him before. Takes good care of his stuff. He got it used off the original owner a year ago.

He's asking for $725.

Whatcha think? I'd love to get it but don't wanna get wore out on the price.

Thanks!

$725 is fair.

Is it a head, 1x12, 2x12?

I sold a used 2x12 for about $950 but that was about three years ago, they are worth a bit less used now.
I bought a 1x12 5:50 for $600, converted it to a head and traded it for an American Strat so $600 - $750 is probably the range you'd want to be in as a buyer.

Thanks! It is a 1x12 combo. :)

I paid $775 for my 1x12 in very good condition (no tears in tolex or grill) and $800 for my 5:25 1x10 (ditto). $725 sounds fair to me.

I got mine right before the Plus models came out, so prices may have dropped a touch, but frankly $725 for an amp that retailed for $1300-1400 is a pretty good deal regardless.

Wonderful! It should be here Monday!

Super stoked. I loved this amp when I got the opportunity to play one a year or so ago.
