what impulse files did you use?
recabinet or what else?
which kind of cab is the file from?
the sound is cool. i also use impulse files for recording my ideas at home.

Impulse file is "s-preshigh" (PM me if you want it)
I use LePou Lecab (free, search google for it)
As after effects i used some eq (adding some mids and high) and a bit of Sonic Maximizer (extra highs).

Here is another song, recorded with a ribbon mike and the Studio Preamp. The Cascade Fat Head.
Unfortunely I used a Ibanez tubescreamer TS10, wich gave it a bit nasal mids. Without TS its more bulgy and gritty.
The ribbon has a nice highend, like a lowpassfilter. Eqing it is easy.
This mp3 is not as "deep" as the first, should have taken some mids out of the guitars. Whatever.

Sick tone man! The first clip made my jaw drop; can't believe that's a Studio Preamp! What were your settings?

I have been having alot of issues trying to record direct with mine, I get a ton of background noise (I made a thread about it in the rack section).

Try using revalver from peavey. It makes a world of difference as a cabinet loader because it has crunch and speaker distortion knobs in addition to the cabinets bass treble knobs. Plus actual power amp simulations. I tried it with my studio preamp and liked the results.
