Hello,
I have this DC-3 amp, which buzzes and hums especially at louder volumes, it gets really annoying. I also am not sure, but I think the volume is not too loud.
The noise is dependent on gain, channel, and master volume as well as the post EQ settings. It is quite loud on the lead channel. On the clean channel it is not so apparent but it is still there.
I tried replacing the v1 , v2 and v6 tubes.
I tried plugging a shorted jack at the input-No noise.
With nothing plugged in there is no noise either.
With the guitar plugged in the fx loop there is noise similar to when the guitar is plugged in the lead channel. This is regardless of the position of the fx loop knob.
Any suggestions on what could be wrong? Any further testing I should do? I don't have any power tubes ready at hand to try, so I would have to order online in order to troubleshoot.
