Mesa Boogie 5881/6L6GC STR 425

I am sort of wondering if the Mesa 5881 STR 425 will work in a Mark V. They remind me of the old Sovtek when I first came across them back in mid 90's.

I looked up possible sources and it seems they all have plastic base similar to standard 6L6. Has anybody tried these yet?

The STR425 will certainly work fine in your Mark V. They are rebranded Sovtek 5881 tubes. The mica spacers are not the best design and sometimes rattle against the glass. The STR430 was much better in this respect. RIP STR430.
