I have a Mesa Boogie 2:90 power amp I just received from UPS. I have a few questions regarding this power amp. This is the blue light amp btw.
First since it is a stereo power amp would it be true if using a 8ohm Mono cabinet and a 16ohm mono cabinet I would actually use the 4ohm outs on the power amp?
Second when changing tubes does it matter if they are alternated Red/Blue label tubes? Or just using 6L6GC tubes? Does anybody know the layout of the tubes, are the top 4 channel A and bottom Channel B, or is it left 4 channel B and right 4 channel A to line up with the way the input and outputs are setup?
Last I noticed on Channel B some serious popping and crackling sounds. This is why I am considering changing tubes, is it probable this is a tube issue?
Sorry for all the questions, I just do not want to do something that would cause issues with the amp.
