Picked up a Maverick 1x12 combo and gotta say, **** what an amp.
The clean channel is beyond amazing. The Fat switch adds some great midrange.
I read plenty of mixed reviews on the Lead channel over the years. My take is it's not muddy, harsh, loose or hard to dial in.
It takes a little time and is well worth it. I really like the lead channel. This is a Mesa that doesn't sound like
anything else in their line up (in a good way). Both channels can be thick and meaty or you can brighten them up.
I wish I would have bought a Maverick when they came out.
At least I have one now and it's not going anywhere and is slowly becoming my favorite amp.

My bandmate just picked up a Maverick and it's definitely a nice amp. He's more of a low gain blues player and it's a a great fit for that genre. I always enjoy plugging into it when he lets me.

Was always puzzled why it was listed as a Dual Rectifier.

Most (if not all) of the amps in the original Dual Rectifier series (Dual, Triple, Maverick, Blue Angel, Tremoverb) were all able to be switched between a Tube or Solid State rectifier, hence the name.
