Currently I have a Dual Rec and it's not that I'm unhappy with it but I recently checked out the Mark V to see what it is all about. The clean sound was just incredible. The all-out metal sound using the Mark IV setting had a great tone but I couldn't stand the pick attack I was getting. I don't know if it was the amp or cabinet but it actually sounded like it wasn't keeping up with my picking when I tried to shred. Any thoughts on the cause? I don't want to give up on the idea of getting this head because I loved the tone and versatility. I'm looking for a super-tight and quick response heavy sound. Maybe it was the speakers?

Unless I miss my mark it's actually the reverse... the amp is tracking faster than you're used to with a lot less sag and it feels like your stumbling and falling behind.

I had the same issue when I first transitioned from the Recto to the Mark V. It takes a bit to get used to, but once get a feel for it it stops being an issue.
