I just bought the Mark V. I'm not a high gain guy. I play southern rock/blues/modern country in a dive bar cover band. I think I found the settings for channel 1 I like. I still need a good crunch tone (Gov't Mule, Skynyrd esq) and I'm looking for that Joe Bonamassa, Eric Johnson lead tone to use at times. I know Bonamassa has 4 amps to get it but I'm sure there is something close in the Mark V. I'm playing a PRS DGT and Gibson ES 339. The strat stays home most nights. Any suggestions?

For a EJ style tone MK2C+ mode, triode, typical V shape on the GEQ except with alot more mids. As far as gain goes i say just dial in as much as you think you need.

I'd use the Tweed mode (45 watt tube rec) Full power in channel 1 for Eric Johnson tone, with a bb preamp without too much bass dialed in. That's if the IIC+ mode doesn't get you there.

You could also look at at boosting the Edge mode as well, although it doesn't sing as much as Tweed for me.
