I know that for some the question i'm about to ask is a bit ... ilogical.
Still...
Have any of you guys thought what it would be like to have a TA15, but instead of the inside of the TA15 it would be the Mark V channel 3??
For gigs you have the Mark, for smaller jams, when you want to go and jam with some buddies etc... Just the Mark V 3rd channel.
I'm thinking of building this thing with the help of some people who know what they are doing.
Just think about it.. having that small big, with the best high gain tone on the market...
I already have the schematics, the problem is getting a good transformer, i'm searching for some who makes them, and does a good job at it.

That'd be all kinds of ridiculous awesome win if you could pull that off...!

OK,
found a guy.
It seems that it is possible... I'll be doing a 2 channel amp, 1 High gain (Mark IV) and one clean channel.
Next week i'll meet with the guy and we'll talk.

What im saying is probably gonna upset some folks but Ive had the urge to gut my mark V and make it just a preamp a couple of times. The mark V sounds insane slaved into other power amps, sometimes more to my tastes than its own power section.... You should hear it slaved into my 5150 w/ original sylvania 6L6's.

If someone could build a dumbed-down clone of its preamp section id be all over that as well. Fat, crunch and mkiv for me. And maybe even take out a gain stage to get rid of some of the compression (im assuming that could help?)

I never used it like that...
Guess I was always a bit scared of blowing something up...
I went to the store to pick up my V... just looking at the TA15 and imagining the MarkIV mode in there....

I've seen people with a Triaxis, 20:20 and 2:90 in their rig before. The idea was that they used the 20:20 at smaller venues and the 2:90 at larger ones.

Obviously doesn't fill your 'Grab and Go' channel 3 in a mini amp needs, but tossing the idea out anyway.

My mini-rig is a Mark V on a 1x12 Thiele.

It would... but where? In portugal there is none...
Still, the components to build your own amp are way more cheaper!
