Hey everyone I've got a Mark V head that's a couple of years old and it started recently having a few issues.

The first issue is it started to make an intermittent cracking/clicking sound in the left side of the head. Sounds like it is in the transformer. It's definitely not the sound of the tubes warming/cooling.

The second issue and very random is it'll lose power a bit and sound output will be very low. This will usually resolves itself but it happened again for the 3rd time last night.

Anyone have any experience with this or have any suggestions? I'm wondering if the first pre-amp tube is going out or if it's a transformer issue.

Thanks in advance!

The clicking sound could be the 8 pin cable not seating properly on the amp or the into the foot switch.
The power loss sounds like a power tube issue.

jb's 52,

Thanks for the reply.

When that pin isn't seated properly does it sound like the click you hear when you switch channels?
