Hi to all! First post from new one.

O.k., so, If possible I want to connect my GT 100 with new amp (Mesa Mark V). Is it possible to use Mesa sound as main unit and GT 100 just for effects, compressor and distortions when need in front of amp and delays... after? 4 cable metod doesn't work fine because in that case only GT works and eliminate Mesa preamp. I don't know where is problem. After all, I can sell my new Gt and put some pedals in front and after preamp but someone said that this can be arranged well with these two nice machines. Thanks for some inputs!

I'm going to be in the opposite camp... I use a GT-8 with several of my amps and have for many years. It works great using what is commonly called the "4 cable method (4CM)" and I don't notice any change of tone.

If you are only using the unit for effects, nothing has changed much in that department since the GT-8. So you may want to grab one used for cheap and try it out.

I do notice on higher gain patches that your noise floor will go up a bit. It's not noticeable until the gain gets pretty high but then it is definitely noticeable. The noise gate in the unit solves it quickly and easily.

For what it's worth, Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme and now on tour with Rihanna) uses a GT-8 with his Randalls and has for many years. He has great ears (I know this first hand but I've also heard it from others.)

Now with all that, I don't love all of the effects in the unit. The delays and reverbs are fine. The chorus I don't really use and it doesn't do much for me. The rotary simulator is lousy. Some of the other modulation effects are pretty good (uni-vibe, phaser, flanger.)

Like was said before, check out http://bossgtcentral.com for more on those units.

Well, don't work fine at all, or I missed something, but now I am going to sold my GT and buy few nice pedals (compressor/ some dist. for fluid soloing/ delay and maybe chorus).
