Mark V:25 with an MXR 10 Band EQ?

I was just curious if anyone has paired their mark 5 or any other mesa boogie amps with a 10 band eq? Is this a smart addition or is it basically pointless due to the already onboard eq? Thanks!

I sometimes place one after an OD pedal to correct/compensate for the pedal's inherent EQ.

Metallica used a parametric EQ for Master of Puppets. Extra bees a buzz', I love Dimebag's tone so I would encourage trying the GEQ anyway.
