So I've heard NOS FRT or RCA Mullards are amazing in the V1 V3 spot.
What exactly is FRT short for? I searched on web and in forums and found nothing.

I am a metal guy, so would this be an improvement for my style?

Thanks

I haven't heard of FRT tubes. Perhaps you mean RFT tubes?

Well the Mark IV post says FRT. So maybe he miss typed.

i would be going in V1 and V3 a 1950's/1960's (rca mullard or FRT) these sound amazing! the bass is huge! and you can really push it on your amp but it NEVER sounds tubby at all.cheaper nice sounding tubes are JAN, TUNG Sol, JJ and EH.
