Okay so this is a really subjective question, but how does a Rectoverb 50 combo stack up to a Mark IV-b in terms of cleans and reverb quality and what about the gain, how different are the crunchy tones?

I'm really interested to hear what y'all have to say.

the cleans on the rectoverb is the best clean you get on the recto amps (except the roadster/roadking). the reverb works well and sounds good, compared to the reverb on the DC amps (tubedriven reverb), the recto-reverb is a bit "colder". don´t know if the MIV has a tubedriven reverb or not.

the gain-channel is typical recto style. very open gain structure, which is cool for fat rhythm work - very brutal sounding - but lacking on single notes (as with most of the recto amps). the MIV is more compressed and warmer sounding.

i don´t have a MIV, so don´t ask my any further questions, but i played through it in the past a few times.
