Getting ready to place an order for a new Mark IV. I think I have decided on the head instead of the combo. Still may go the used route for a combo though.

Anyway, which head and more importantly....why ? I have never seen so many variations on a theme.

Input incredibly appreciated !

Feature wise, they are all the same.

At the moment, Mesa only offers the short and medium heads.

On top of a regular 4x12, the larger one fits much better.

If you're going to use it with a thiele, the short head is its perfect match!

I think I would go with the short head only because it affords you the option of going with any configuration you want. You can leave it as a head. You can rack it. You can slam it into a combo. However you like it you can have it. Just get one. You can't go wrong with the short chassis.

My thoughts exactly.
